We would also recommend you take out a simple travel insurance policy should you be affected in any other way by Covid 19 eg you develop symptoms, just as you would if you were travelling aboard. If you cancel within 14 days of arrival you will owe us the total cost of your stay and this will be charged to the card you used to pay your deposit at the point of cancellation. We will do all we can to relet the room(s) and should this be wholly or partly possible we will provide a credit to you for the amount we have recovered from a new booking minus your deposit. This may be less than you had paid and you remain liable for the total cost of your booking.
Any credit can be used against the balance of a new booking within 12 months. A new nonrefundable deposit must be paid for a new / replacement booking and standard terms and conditions apply.
Exceptions to our 14 day cancellation policy include Full House bookings, Bank Holidays and Special Events when 28 day terms apply and where a 2 night or 50% deposit is paid.
Once booked and your deposit paid your dates and deposit are non transferable. However if you have a need to change your booking we will try and accommodate your request on a goodwill basis, subject to availability, where the request is made more than 6 weeks prior to the date of arrival and new dates are within 6 weeks of the original date booked. We cannot guarantee the availability of new dates and should you choose to cancel your booking your nonrefundable deposit will be forfeited.
All goodwill transfers, cancellations and refunds – full or partial, are subject to a £50 administration fee.
BUT please remember any changes within 14 days (28 days as described above) of arrival are classed as a cancellation and will be charged accordingly even if you choose alternative dates, this also includes any reduction in the length of your stay.
In the event of ‘no show’ the card you used to pay your deposit will be debited with the full cost of your booking. If it is not possible to debit the money from your card a debt recovery process will be followed.
Should The House at Hawes need to cancel your booking we shall seek to give a minimum of 14 days notice. You will be given the option of a refund of your deposit or offered an alternative date. The House at Hawes will not be liable for any additional, associated or consequential costs.
